Product description and application The Arthrex AR-6480 DualWave arthroscopy pump is a system that provides constant, continuous (non-pulsating) control of intra-articular flow and distension pressure throughout the arthroscopy procedure. The AR-6480 pump is designed to provide continuous (non-pulsating) flow, capable of reacting instantaneously to variations in intra-articular pressure to maintain joint distension, even in the event of high suction flow due to the resector or a secondary source. The AR-6480 pump includes : - a universal medical-grade power supply enabling it to operate automatically at the voltage ranges used worldwide. - a universal automatic resector detection function enabling the device to switch automatically from low-flow cannula aspiration to high-flow arthroscope sleeve aspiration, as required. A touch screen displays user inputs. - a wash function applying high pressure to interrupt bleeding, and a rinse function for rapid cleaning of joint spaces. User-defined settings for irrigation pressure and suction flow rates can be modified using controls available on the touch screen or remote control. The AR-6480 comes with four applied tubing options: 1. One-piece tubing only. This tubing, when used alone, must be changed after each patient. 2. One-piece tubing combined with extension tubing. The AR-6410 can be reused for a full day's surgery. AR-6220 must be replaced after each patient. 3. Two-part tubing combination. The pump tubing can be reused for a full day's surgery. Patient irrigation tubing must be changed after each surgical procedure. 4. Suction tubing. When the suction tubing is connected to the AR-6480 pump, the DualWave arthroscopy pump switches from a system operating in irrigation-only mode to an arthroscopy pump operating in irrigation/aspiration mode.
