The PHILIPS REMSTAR AUTO A-FLEX sleep therapy system is designed to further improve patient comfort by adjusting the supply pressure of the entire respiratory cycle. The A-Flex delivers the right flow-based pressure at the onset of exhalation, and smoothes the transition from expiratory to inspiratory pressure to provide additional comfort. The A-Flex works with our clinically tested auto-PCP algorithm that meets the patient's therapeutic needs throughout sleep. ▪ Auto-Trial mode provides for the device functions as an automatic CPAP for up to 30 days, after which the device switches to automatic CPAP Check mode a pressure of 90% of the therapy calculated over the Auto-Trial period. ▪ PPC Check mode monitor and evaluate patients in 30-hour time windows to determine whether the therapy pressure is optimal; if not, the device automatically adjusts the therapy pressure changes 1 cm H2O until it reaches the optimum. ▪ Humidification with heated tube provides optimum humidity for maximum patient comfort. ▪ Opti-Start improves automatic CPAP treatment, calculating the optimum pressure to start with. ▪ Adjustable min pressure guarantees medical specialists more possibilities for adapting patients to two levels of treatment.
