The new CT-80 computerized tonometer incorporates innovative features to make intraocular pressure measurements almost effortless. 30% faster interval time Fast, easy measurements The CT-80 offers faster, easier operation thanks to a new line-up bar and improved air cylinder. The interval between measurements has been reduced by over 30%, so that patients can be examined more comfortably over a shorter period. Once alignment is complete, the resulting data are automatically measured and displayed. Triple safety function A focus on safety The CT-80 features an innovative triple safety function. Firstly, an adjustable safety cap can be set by the operator. Secondly, a "too close" display on the monitor guides the user into alignment. Thirdly, a buzzer warns the operator if the cornea and instrument are too close. Dual sensor system TOPCON's precise measurement system TOPCON CT-80 takes its original measurement method and uses two sensors; one for light and one for pressure. When a puff of air flattens the cornea, the light sensor detects the moment. The light sensor detects the moment of applanation, while another sensor simultaneously monitors the inner chamber to obtain the intraocular pressure. This new calculation system enables the operator to obtain extremely precise measurement data without the influence of atmospheric pressure, altitude or possible mechanical damage. Integrated self-check function The CT-80 informs the operator in advance when maintenance is required. It displays a warning message on the monitor when a lens is dirty, as well as its objective (either the measuring glass or the chamber glass). Optional manual control The CT-80 can be operated in fully manual mode by overriding the automatic measurement setting. The alignment procedure is similar to that used in automatic mode. In automatic mode, however, measurements are not captured automatically. Instead, the system must be activated manually by pressing the joystick trigger. The alignment mark displayed on the monitor will change from a broken box to a solid pattern once correct alignment has been achieved. Internal fixation target Infrared lighting provides the CT-80's main illumination: it eliminates the need for a bright, powerful alignment light and enhances patient comfort. Integrated printer The CT-80 includes a built-in printer that provides a hard copy of all stored IOP data at the touch of a button. Up to three individual measurements plus an average value can be printed for each eye in automatic or manual mode.
